Crime: We Will Take Back Britain’s Streets
We are Reform UK. We are going to do what the others will not. We will restore law and order and we will make our streets safe again.
For too long criminals have had an easy ride. That ends here. We will put them where they belong, behind bars. We will back our police so they can do their job without fear or favour. We will make sure the rights of the decent, law-abiding majority always come before the rights of criminals.
Our Plan
We will put thousands more police on the streets. Forty thousand extra frontline officers over five years, bringing numbers up to proper levels. Real policing, visible in every community. More bobbies on the beat. Better kit. No excuses.
We will bring back zero-tolerance policing. If you carry a knife, deal drugs, or commit a violent crime, you will go to prison. No ifs, no buts. Drug dealers and traffickers will face mandatory life sentences. A new offence of substantial possession of drugs will carry serious penalties.
We will put tough, no-nonsense leadership back into the police. Ex-military recruits will be encouraged. Fitness, discipline and smart presentation will be compulsory. Chief Constables who allow political bias or two-tier policing will be removed.
The days of police filling in endless forms instead of catching criminals are over. PCSOs will be given the chance to join the force as full officers before the role is phased out.
Common Sense Policing
We will scrap the diversity and political box-ticking that has infected policing. There will be one standard, the law, and it will apply to everyone. The Independent Office for Police Conduct will be cleaned up so it works for the public, not against them.
The College of Policing will be stripped of politics. You will join by passing an exam, not by getting a degree. You will prove yourself over a tough two-year probation.
Justice That Works
We will make sentences mean what they say. Commit a second violent or serious offence and you will get life in prison.
We will give our courts the resources to deliver justice quickly. The criminal justice budget will rise from £10 billion to £12 billion to hire the staff needed to clear the backlog. Local magistrates’ courts will reopen.
We will stop the abuse of hate crime laws that see people investigated just because someone claims they “perceived” an offence.
We will start building 10,000 new prison places right away. These will be state-built and state-run. If we need more, we will use disused military bases. When we say life, we mean life.
Protecting the Vulnerable
We will take on child grooming gangs with zero tolerance. Offenders with dual nationality will be deported. Grooming will be treated as an aggravating offence and there will be no bail for suspects. Victims and vulnerable people will have much better protection.
We will turn young offenders around with tough, disciplined High Intensity Training Camps that teach respect, skills, and teamwork.

You will see more police on your streets. You will see faster justice. You will see violent criminals taken off the streets for good. You will know that the law is there to protect you, not to pander to the guilty.
